Dear Homeowners,

In 2004, the Houses of Shannon’s Landing Way became part of our Newberry Station Community. However, today, many of you do not know this and view these as two separate communities and not as one big community.

In efforts to improve this vision and create a greater sense of unity and bringing both sides together, the HOA Board is planning on updating and upgrading one of the connections near the main entrance to the community on Hamilton Court. Currently, there is a set of wood stairs that is not in a good condition and needs to be updated, but instead of only fixing what is currently there, we are proposing to improve the stairs and with that the connection between the two sides.

In addition, there currently is no walkway or passage to connect to the other side of the street after coming up the stairs. Part of this proposal involves removing the first parking spot on that street to allow for a landscaping design walkway and avoid people having to walk through cars. This is also an attempt to reduce any danger that may pose from a car entering the community and not seeing people walking or crossing through because of the parked car.

Creating seamless, attractive, and safe paths throughout our community not only will it bring us together; it will also create a significantly safer transition between paths for all, especially our children and youth as they explore, run, and play within the community.

The HOA will be voting on this matter on our next board meeting Wednesday, March 3rd.
